Clinical learning and teaching is a vital part of health professional education. Working with staff in the clinical setting provides the opportunity to apply theory to practice and develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills needed to function effectively as health professionals of the future. However, simply being in the workplace doesn’t automatically lead to positive learning experiences, nor does it guarantee the effective development of professional knowledge and skills. Successful workplace experiences involve students and staff working together to achieve best outcomes.
